FIRE RAKE

My Team and I were tasked with designing a rake for firefighting that is able to fold down flat and is easy to move the angle of the head. We had a rough prototype provided by the client and I reverse engineered it to get the general size and form down, but then designed it in CAD to have solid forms and manufacturing plans. We had to source materials and hardware for the final technical drawings used for manufacturing.

Using my CAD and technical drawings, a welder made a prototype from real materials for the client to use in the field for testing. After a few weeks of having it in firefighters’ hands, we made a few minor changes and finalized the drawing packet for manufacturing.
